Sampling the delights of Goodone

Recently I attended Goodone’s fab sample sale at their studio in Islington. Goodone is a fantastic young brand run by the charismatic and energetic Nin Castle (below) who’s vision is to reuse and recycle clothing to create new stylish and fashion-forward products making a positive change from within the fashion industry.

Goodone is already held in high regard in the fashion industry and has been awarded fashion business mentoring from Yasmin Sewell which is part of a new scheme from the British Fashion Council to support young designers at Esthetica. Here is a blog post from Grazia’s fashion editor-at-large Melanie Rickey - her blog is called fashion editor at large and is my new fave read.

Rickey visited the Esthetica press day and raves about Nin and her designs at Goodone. Not only does Melanie love her work but Yasmin Sewell, creative consultant at Liberty, said she’s got what it takes to go all the way – a massive accolade from a fashion icon!

So, back to the clothes. Goodone uses recycled clothing to produce new pieces. Her last A/W collection was amazing and I just fell in love with the woollen bomber jacket, so cool! The S/S collection is also amazing and I love the pastel palate.

Goodone’s style is fun and stylish, not anything like most ethical brands and she specialises in hot body-con pieces which are both wearable and eye-catching.

I just love the studio, it’s great her work everywhere and sketches rather than being a minimalist showroom with no soul, and note the gin and tonic in the background in the photo below, what better way to spend an evening, perusing clothes and drinking G&Ts!

For stylish guilt-free and moral-conscious clothing look no further than Goodone.
