After an attempted visit to Maltby Street and its various food and drink outlets on Saturday morning, (thanks for the New Year’s Eve tip Time Out, but you failed to mention that it would be closed), I ended up in nearby Borough Market.
Last time I went to Borough Market was a year or so ago, and I was swallowed up by the crowds. However, Saturday couldn’t have been a better day to visit. It was New Year’s Eve, so whilst we were sampling the delicious foodie treats, the rest of London was either putting on their fake eyelashes or purchasing fireworks for the night’s festivities.
The market really does stock some incredible food and drink, my highlight being a beautifully fresh ginger, honey, lemon and ginseng juice.
