The festival season has begun!

The festival season has officially kicked off with Isle of White last weekend, and what a start it’s had with amazing performances from The Strokes, Florence and the Machine, Jay-Z and a stunning set from Paul McCartney who closed the festival.

So with Glastonbury, V Festival, Reading and Leeds, Lovebox, Field Day, Bestival and many more still to come, the big question is what are the essential things to take to a festival? Well, stop your worrying, here they are:

o Wellies – never leave without a pair, gladiators in the mud and a trip to toilet just ain’t going to cut it.

o Long socks – practical, to stop any rubbing from wellies, but also warm and the epitome of festival chic.

o Oversized sunglasses – to hide a multitude of sins from the night before

o Fedora/Panama hat – perfect for the sun or to cover from the formidable English showers. Channel that inner boho. I’m loving Pachacuti for the perfect Panama.

o Denim cut-offs – Effortlessly cool and if you can’t rock them at a festival when can you!? I’m getting my holiday skin at the ready in preparation first though...

o Long-lasting make-up and nail varnish – As let’s be honest, I have every intention of taking my make-up off and re-applying it and my nail varnish when necessary but when I collapse in the early hours high on Florence et al it may not happen. Honesty is the best possible.

o Hairband – A weekend without straighteners will take its toll, and that’s not even going into hat hair...

o Glitter/bright lipgloss – If you can’t experiment with glitter, fake lashes and neon pink lipgloss at a festival, when can you?

T-Shirt and Tails Loves: Julian Casablancas

I've always been a big fan, and admirer, of the The Strokes' Julian Casablancas (I'm a little bit upset about the wife though Jules) and I just LOVE his new solo single '11th Dimension' which is released on 2 Nov. It's my favourite song of the moment and it's now stuck on repeat for the fifth time. Check it out here. I can't wait for the album 'Phrazes for the Young' at the end of October.
