LFW Launch: Toni & Guy Catwalk Show

London Fashion Week launched the spring/summer 2012 campaign with a Toni & Guy ‘Hair Meets Wardrobe’ catwalk show at Somerset House on Thursday night.
The catwalk show was introduced by Naomi Campbell (I still can’t believe she’s 41!) and featured four signature looks: casual, glamour, creative and classic. Each signature look was personified with striking hair, make-up and outfits worn by the models.
I had no idea what to expect of this catwalk show. What would the theme be? What would the format be? Would fashion play a role? However, Toni & Guy seemed to really understand the correlation and importance between hair and fashion (despite a couple of debateable outfit choices on the catwalk, namely a pink-swimsuit with one-legged fringe trousers). It even inspired me to go and try a few of the looks at home.
The fash-pack party then continued at the Royal Hospital Club in Covent Garden, which involved expresso martinis, mini ice-creams and a whole lot of dancing. Let London Fashion Week commence!

Mulberry S/S 12

Mulberry S/S 12 was a fantastic show today. The collection was inspired by the Great British Summer, camping and festivals, and was incredibly uplifting.

Mulberry's collection featured a sensation of candy colours and summer brights, and it incorporated all of the British summer staples. From maxi dresses and platform sandals for the momentary summer rays, and waterproof jackets and skirts for the summer showers all teamed with beautiful Brigitte Bardot-esque hair.

This London Fashion Week collection marks yet another success for Mulberry’s Creative Director Emma Hill. Hill has has really turned Mulberry in to a fashion tour de force, and I can’t wait to see what next LFW has to offer!
