London Fashion Week A/W 11, Street Style

One of the best things about London Fashion Week is the people watching, in and around Somerset House.

I could spend endless hours looking at the street style on offer in the most creative of all the fashion capital's.

Here are some of my favourite street style photos:

I love the combination and strength of the black-rimmed glasses, gothic lipstick and green boyfriend blazer.

Great gold studded detail on these otherwise casual trainers.

This gentleman reminds me of a forgotten age, with the cravat, military coat, tweed trousers and highly-polished shoes.

Who said that fashion is for the youth.

A big thumbs up!

Colour blocking - my favourite trend this season!

Teamed with a felt hat and she's good to go.

One of those looks that would never work on paper,

but in person it's a triumph.

This is all that's great with English eccentricity.

I saw bow ties on men everywhere at LFW (inc. three on the front row at E. Tautz alone). Men start digging out yours!

Off-Duty Model - Abbey Lee

I love the off-duty model look, it's so effortlessly chic and unpolished.
This image recently caught my eye, it's of the beautiful Abbey Lee and she looks a-may-zing! Love the long skirt, metallic jacket and sweeping fringe.
The guy behind certainly likes her look.

Viva Facehunter!

I love my weekly Facehunter fix with The Guardian, it is the best end to the week gorging through the street style shots on a Saturday morning with a cup of Earl Grey - or start of the week depending on whether I remember to buy the paper or not, and end up looking it up online on Monday morning! (The Guardian fashion section is by far and away the best on the net, my fave read.) This shot, taken in Spain, is no different. I simply love the simplicity and elegance of the nude vest matched with the pale grey harem trousers which looks effortlessly cool. Teamed with black oversized sunglasses, heels and a clutch - perfect!

I could spend hours trawling through the street style archives on fashion websites such as Elle, Vogue et al, being inspired by the chosen accessories, the pulling together of an outfit and the accompanying hair and make-up.



The appeal has got to be that there are no celebrities included just mere mortals. This means that the clothes are usually high-street or vintage therefore replicas or the real thing are easily accessible, and there are no stylist involved (unless the person in question is a stylist - which half of them seem to be along with models, fashion PRs, designers and fashion students). If ever I have one of those days where I just don't know what to wear, this is my first point of call. What are your thoughts on street style features?
